Catherine graduated from Hornsby Girls High School with an ATAR of 99.15. She received a Band 6 in all her subjects which included Advanced English, Extension Maths, Economics, Biology and Chemistry. Catherine also has strong leadership skills, having been Vice-Captain of her school and an executive member of the Student Representative Council. She has also completed her 8th Grade AMEB Piano exam and was the winner of the best delegate award at the Macquarie University ‘United Nations Women’s Day’ event in 2018. Catherine is passionate about empowering students to improve their confidence and achieve their academic goals.
English, Maths, Physics
Jacob graduated from The King’s School in 2018 with the school’s highest award for academics. This earned him the HSC All Rounder award and an ATAR of 98.6. He prides himself on his hard-working, ‘practice makes perfect’ approach to learning as well as his ability to connect on more than just an academic level with his students in order to discover the best ways in which to help them – a quality that isn’t always common highly academic tutors. Jacob currently attends Sydney University completing a Bachelor of pre-Honours Economics with a minor in Physics.
Hal is an experienced tutor, with over six years of helping primary and secondary school students achieve their highest potential. Having received first-class Honours in 2019, she is currently working on a Master’s degree at Sydney University, focusing on ethics and the philosophy of literature. She has completed an Honours Research Fellowship with Sydney Environment Institute, and now works as a research assistant with Sydney Health Ethics, and as a tutor in the university’s philosophy department. Hal’s pedagogical style emphasises critical thinking, analytic and creative acuity, and student autonomy.
Harrison has been at Capra for two years and graduated from The Scots College with an ATAR of 98.15 having studied English (2 unit), Chemistry, Physics, Economics in year 12 and Maths (4 unit) in year 11 through the accelerated program. He received the Academic Excellence prize and The Thomas McCleary Scholarship for the gifted and talented whilst at school. Harrison is currently studying a Bachelor of Commerce/Engineering at The University of Sydney.
