Our Tutors

Tutoring requires a personal connection and so our tutors are a diverse mix, ensuring there is something for everyone.

Our Maths tutors include a pure mathematics Ph.D student, the head teacher of Mathematics of a NSW selective high school, three university students majoring in mathematics and ten tutors who earned an ATAR or UAI of 99 or higher.

Our English tutors include two Ph.D candidates, a qualified English teacher, a professional writer, a masters of education student and a university student who earned a top ten rank in English for the HSC.

Our Primary tutors include five qualified high school teachers, a university student studying education and Georgia, who has been with us for eight years.

We also have tutors for Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Ancient History, Modern History & Economics.

With over 40 qualified teachers, Ph.D candidates and high achieving university students, we are confident that we will find the right fit for any student.

Sam Lewin (English) is a Ph.D candidate in the history and philosophy of linguistics at the University of Sydney.

Harry Nobis (Maths) is in his final year of a combined Pure Mathematics and Aeronautical Engineering degree at the University of Sydney and holds a distinction average. Harry was Dux of Rose Bay Secondary College, achieving an ATAR of 99.4, and earned a scholarship upon commencing university.

Georgia Velis (Primary, Biology) has been tutoring at Capra since 2008 and has taken a special interest in helping to prepare motivated students for the selective schools and scholarship tests. Georgia studied Microbiology and holds a Masters of Public Health from the University of Sydney.

Helen Velis (Maths) earned a UAI of 99.4 and a scholarship to study at the University of Sydney. She graduated with a Bachelor of Pharmacy and is one of our directors.

Victoria Lim-Howe (English, English Extension, History Extension, Modern History) earned HSC marks of 96, 49 and 49 for Advanced English, English Extension and Extension History, ranking 3rd in the state for History Extension and 10th for English Extension. She is completing her Honours year in the Bachelor of Psychology at the University of Sydney.

Arjun Bhuyan (maths) graduated from Sydney Grammar School earning an ATAR of 99.5. He is currently studying Advanced Engineering at the University of Sydney on a scholarship.

Gill Assi-Dyer (Primary) is a qualified primary teacher with over 40 years of experience in International primary schools in the Middle East and Europe. She is British and was certified in England. She has experience teaching all years from Kindy to year 5. She is currently working as a casual teacher in NSW.

Sabrina Agius (Biology, Maths, English) has been tutoring for four years since she completed her HSC in 2013 at Manly Selective Campus, achieving an ATAR of 98.65, and is studying a Bachelor of Science (Honors) with a double major in Psychology and Neuroscience at the University of Sydney.

Eleanor Martin is an English and History tutor about to complete her Masters of Teaching (Secondary) at Sydney University. She has studied in both Australia and the US, and is familiar with both HSC and IB programs.

Ashleigh Simon (Primary) is a qualified primary teacher with 6 years experience in New South Wales primary schools. She is currently working full-time at a primary school in the North Shore.

Ellison Venables (Primary) has over 25 years of teaching experience in a variety of schools across Australia and overseas, including many years preparing children for NAPLAN. Currently teaching in a primary school in Mosman.

Rachel Catlin (Primary) is a qualified primary teacher with 2 years experience. She has worked in New South Wales and England across both public and non-government schools including experience in special needs education. She is currently working at a local primary school on the Northern Beaches.

Kate Shorter (Maths) attended Wenona School in North Sydney and earned HSC mark of 96 for Mathematics General and is currently studying Science at The University of Sydney, majoring in Psychology.

Nick Andrews (Maths, Economics, English, Geography) is currently in his second year studying a combined degree in Commerce and Laws (majoring in finance) at the University of Sydney.

Kartya Vucetic (English, Legal Studies) earned HSC marks of 95 in English Advanced, 47 in English Extension 1 and 94 in Legal Studies. She is currently in her first year studying a combined degree of Law and Commerce alongside a diploma of Mandarin at the University of New South Wales. Kartya is also an accomplished public speaker and debater, currently undertaking her Trinity ATCL Performance Diploma.

Will Watson (Maths) is currently studying a combined degree in Software Engineering and Commerce at the University of New South Wales.

Hayon Lee (Maths, Chemistry) completed her International Baccalaureate in New Zealand with a final mark of 43 (ATAR 99.60) and is now in her third year of an arts/law degree majoring in English at the University of Sydney.

Zoe Reizes (Maths, Chemistry, Biology) achieved an ATAR of 99.00, band 6’s in all of her subjects and a state rank. She is currently studying a Bachelor of Physiotherapy at Sydney University.

Adam Mazay (Maths), achieved a 97 result in mathematics extension 1 in his HSC and is currently studying a combined degree of Actuarial Studies and Science at UNSW.

Aimee Edwards (Admin) graduated from a selective performing arts high school in 2013 and is currently studying a combined degree in Communications and Animal Science at the University of New England.

Monica Baird (English; Legal Studies) is a lawyer who studied Arts (Sociology and Anthropology)/Law at the University of New South Wales. She is admitted to both the Supreme Court of NSW and High Court of Australia. She has a passion for education and obtained the premier’s medal in 2008 for HSC. Monica continues to work towards further post graduate studies in Applied Law.

Isabella Bradley (Mathematics) is currently studying Medicine at the University of New South Wales. She previously attended St Catherine’s High School on an academic scholarship, graduating in 2013 with an ATAR of 99.35. She has worked as a tutor for the last 3 years in a variety of subjects including Maths and English, as well as working as a debating coach for St Catherine’s.

James Burnard (Maths) completed his honours degree in Engineering at Stellenbosch university in South Africa. He is currently working towards his bachelors of Science and has been with Capra since 2016.

Tom Cooper (Maths) is currently in the 3rd year of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Sydney. Though he did not go through the HSC, he earned a top band score in AP Calculus and a perfect score in the mathematics section of the SAT, which came together to give him an equivalent ATAR of 99.95.

Chris Cooper (Maths, Physics, Chemistry) is currently studying Mechatronic Engineering at the University of Sydney where he also plays in the University Big Band. Chris graduated as dux of The Scots College in 2016 with an ATAR if 99.9.

Robin Evans (English, History) graduated from Sydney Grammar School in 2016 with marks in the mid to high 90s in English Advanced and Extension, Modern History and Geography. Currently studying a Bachelor of Laws and Communications at UTS, Robin was the Captain of Cricket at Sydney Grammar and is suited to English and History at any level.

Samantha Lawford (English and History) is currently in her fourth year of a Combined Bachelor of Law and International and Global Studies at the University of Sydney. She completed her HSC in 2013 coming 19th in the State in Ancient History and receiving an ATAR of 99.55. She has won university prizes for her Ancient History essays (2016) and excellent academic performance, placing her on the Dean’s Honors List (2015).

Peter Lee (Maths and Business Studies) is currently doing an Accounting Co-operative Scholarship at the University of Technology. He graduated from Newington College, earning an ATAR of 96.5.

Romy Motwani (Maths) graduated from The Scots College in 2015 and is currently studying a combined degree in Commerce and Advanced Mathematics at the University of New South Wales.

Sian Pannach (Maths) graduated as DUX from the Australian International School Hong Kong, and obtained state rankings in Chinese Continuers and Extension. Since 2014 she has tutored in Hong Kong, Beijing, Sydney and Thailand, and she is currently studying Law and International Relations at the University of Sydney.

Libby Combes (Administrator) is currently studying a combined undergraduate degree of Bachelor of Laws/Business at UTS. She completed her HSC in 2014 at Abbotsleigh receiving a band 6 in Advanced and Extension 1 English, Business Studies, Geography and Visual Arts.

Anna Camilleri (Maths and Economics) is currently studying Law/ Psychology (Honours) at the University of New South Wales. She completed the HSC last year, focusing on humanities subjects, and earning a ATAR of 99.45.

Adele Evens (Math, Biology) is studying Post-Graduate Medicine at the University of Notre Dame. She has previously completed a Bachelor of Science with First Class Honours in Developmental Biology at the University of Queensland.

Sally Ghattas (English and History) is currently studying a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Sydney, double majoring in English and History. After achieving band sixes across eight subjects in the HSC, she has been tutoring for three years and has developed a particular interest in teaching stage 6 English.

Natasha Hickling (Primary in Maths and English) is qualified in Primary teaching from England. She graduated from Staffordshire University with a post graduate degree in Primary Education. Since this she has been a primary teacher and a tutor at centres across Sydney and England. She simply has a passion for motivating and helping children to progress in their learning.

Connor Jones (Maths, Physics, Biology) is in his final year of a Bachelor of Medical Science at University of New South Wales. He has over four years of tutoring experience.

Nicki Kyriacou (Maths, English, Chemistry and Biology) is an undergraduate student at UNSW studying Advanced Science. She is currently studying Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics. Nicki specialises in primary school English, K-12 Mathematics and year 11-12 Chemistry and Biology.

Connor Newdick (Maths, Chemistry) earned HSC marks of 99 and 95 in Mathematics Extension 1 and 2, respectively, and is studying a combined degree in Advanced Science and Engineering at the University of New South Wales.

Tara Van Herten (Maths and English) is a 4th year medical student studying at UNSW. She graduated as dux of Stella Maris College in 2013 on the Premier’s All Rounders List. Tara enjoys tutoring both primary and secondary school students and is particularly well-suited to teaching Stage 6 English, having achieved Band 6s for Advanced, Extension 1 and Extension 2 English.

Christine Trinh (Maths, English) graduated from Ascham in 2014 with an ATAR above 97 and is currently doing a Double Bachelor of Commerce and Engineering at the University of Sydney. She holds a distinction average at uni with majors in Finance, Biomedical research and development.

Bridget Confos(Maths, Economics) is currently studying a Bachelor of Art and Bachelor of Economics at the University of Sydney. She held various leadership positions during her school life at Ascham and achieved Band 6s for HSC Economics and General Maths.
